• Brazil great Ronaldo hopes to leave hospital on Monday

    Brazil soccer great Ronaldo said on Sunday that he has been hospitalized in Ibiza since Friday because of flu.
    The 41-year-old Ronaldo, a three-time FIFA World Player of the Year, said on social media that "everything is under control now" and that he expects to return home on Monday.
    Ronaldo won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002, the striker scoring eight goals at the tournament to take the Golden Boot. He spends much of his time in Spain, where he played briefly at Barcelona and at Real Madrid between 2002 and 2007.
    He retired from football in 2011 at Brazil's Corinthians.

    Reuters Ronaldo Nazario was admitted to hospital in Ibiza to be treated for pneumonia, with the former Brazil and Real Madrid great set to be discharged Monday. Local newspaper Diario de Ibiza said the two-time Ballon d'Or holder and 2002 World Cup Golden Boot winner is in the intensive care unit at the private Policlinica Nuestra Senora del Rosario hospital on the Spanish island, after being taken to a public hospital on the island on Friday evening.     Ronaldo has come down with pneumonia and is said to be in intensive care. Brazilian football legend Ronaldo is reportedly in intensive care in an Ibiza after coming down with pneumonia. The 41-year-old former Real Madrid striker was rushed to Can Misses Hospital on Friday and was said to have been admitted to their intensive care unit before making good progress with his recovery over the weekend.
