    Tigers right-hander Michael Pineda had to leave today's game in the second inning after being hit in his throwing hand by a Ramon Urias line drive. Following the game, manager A.J. Hinch told reporters that Pineda had suffered a fractured right middle finger. A trip to the injured list is inevitable, and Hinch said that Pineda will visit specialists to determine the next course of action in recovery.

    Detroit Tigers right-hander Michael Pineda was forced to leave Saturday's start against the Baltimore Orioles after getting hit in the hand by a comebacker off the bat of Ramon Urias to lead off the second inning. The Tigers later announced that Pineda suffered a right hand contusion and would undergo further evaluation. Urias wound up grounding out on the play as second baseman Jonathan Schoop fielded the ricochet off Pineda and threw to first baseman Spencer Torkelson. Training staff and Tigers manager A.J.
