Gallagher calls out officials' ‘inconsistency' after late goal called back
10 days ago - By Sportsnet
The Montreal Canadiens suffered their third straight loss Tuesday night, and the second consecutive ‘L' at the hands of the less-than-stellar Ottawa Senators. But given what occurred in the final moments of their latest effort, Montreal might see Toronto more deserving of blame than Ottawa.
In the final seconds of a 4-4 tie between Montreal and Ottawa on Tuesday, the sliding Canadiens seemed to break through, with winger Brendan Gallagher deflecting home the potential game-winner as only a few seconds remained on the clock. A few minutes later, though, the score was back to level, a review...

The game ultimately went to overtime, and the Senators won in a shootout. The league explained postgame that Gallagher "impaired Ottawa goaltender Matt Murray's ability to play his position in the...

OTTAWA - Josh Norris scored the shootout winner to give the Ottawa Senators a 5-4 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night at Canadian Tire Centre.
Tim Stutzle also beat Montreal goalie Carey Price in the shootout. Ottawa's Brady Tkachuk opened with a miss and Senators netminder Matt Murray stopped Corey Perry and Jonathan Drouin.
It capped a wild and entertaining game between the two rivals.
Both teams had excellent chances in the overtime session. Stutzle had two glorious opportunities but couldn't convert and Montreal's Tyler Toffoli was stoned on a breakaway with about a...
