• Maryland Sports Betting Handle Continues to Rise in October, Mobile Betting Looms

    Maryland Lottery and Gaming reported on Thursday that the eight legal sports betting operators in the state handled 21.7% more money in October than September, hitting $39.6 million.
    Despite the rise in Maryland sports betting revenue to almost $40 million, the amount the government collected dropped. This was directly caused by a fall in hold percentage, as after paying out winning tickets, October's win rate for sportsbooks was 12.6%.
    September, on the other hand, was a massive 17.5% - or $5.3 million of the total bets made.

  • New York Sports Betting Sites Generate Record Revenue in October

    Online sports betting in New York is trending back up, and towards record levels at that.
    Numbers reported recently by the New York State Gaming Commission show the state's online sports betting sites handled approximately $1.5 billion in wagers for October, up 22.8% from September.
    Gross gaming revenue from mobile sports wagering in New York was about $145.7 million for October, which was a monthly record for the state and good for a hold of 9.4%.
