Jake DeBrusk is arriving at a crossroads in his NHL career.
The Boston Bruins winger once looked like a budding star, totaling a career-high 43 points as a rookie in 2017-18 and scoring a career-high 27 goals as a sophomore in 2018-19. But back-to-back seasons plagued by regression , including a 2020-21 campaign in which he was limited to just five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 41 games, have sent the 24-year-old back to the drawing board.
“I need to revamp some stuff,” DeBrusk said Friday during a video conference. “Obviously, there's a lot of factors that went...

The Bruins ran into a relentless group in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Islanders were a handful for Boston, which seemingly was the better hockey team for long stretches of the best-of-seven series. Still, New York managed to claim four of five tilts after suffering a three-goal loss in Game 1.
For Connor Clifton, and likely the rest of his Bruins teammates, solid play not being reflected on the scoreboard caused frustrated to build.
“I think the most frustrating thing was - whatever game it was, I think it was Game 5 - we played two really good...

Charlie McAvoy's quick exit from the Bruins' season-ending loss was not a decision he made on his own.
McAvoy spent a few minutes in the Boston dressing room Wednesday during the second period of B's-Islanders Game 6. The Bruins blueliner took a Kyle Palmieri shoulder to the chin, which referees deemed not a penalty.
Boston fans surely were on edge when McAvoy left the ice following the late hit and must have been relieved when he returned minutes later. Speaking with the media Friday, McAvoy explained his summoning to the locker room was an order.
    “It was mandatory, I...

David Krejci has spent his entire 15-year career with the Boston Bruins.
So, even though he's set to become a free agent and is unsure what the future holds, the 35-year-old simply finds it difficult to envision playing for another NHL franchise.
“I love Boston. This is my home. I just don't see myself playing anywhere else,” Krejci said Friday during a video conference. “But at the same time, we'll see what happens.”
Krejci explained he'll need a few weeks to think about his next step, a decision that's now front and center with the New York Islanders eliminating the...
